One Year of Home Ownership!

As of Canada Day a few weeks back we have been home owners for one whole year!

It has been mostly a good experience aside from some fairly overwhelming and challenging weeks throughout last summers renovations. But we got through our list... almost entirely. But of course the list has grown, so here is a semi-updated list for the house of things left to do, and others that have been added through the process:
  • Insulate and drywall the laundry room.
  • Paint some of the siding in the back entrance.
  • Install a access panel in the giant hole in the baby's closet.
And the list of things that has been added:
  • Tile the front entrance! (but seriously, its carpet right now, and we live in a winter city..)
  • Remove the demi-wall from the front entrance.
  • Install shelves in the front entrance (instead of the telephone table) to act as shoe storage.
  • Stain the deck.
  • Move the fence over a few feet to create an extra parking space in the back.
  • Put a patio in the back for a fire pit.
  • Paint the UGLY shed.
  • Paint the house? (Or just the front entrance faux-brick?)
The boys spent a good portion of Canada day grading the east side of the house with clay and topsoil to drain away any potential rain from the house. But aside from that we celebrated with dinner, and of course some wine too.
